Rockport First is a Spirit-led Assemblies of God church in the heart of the Texas coast, committed to loving God, loving people, and making disciples. What began as a small congregation has grown into a vibrant, multigenerational family where people from every walk of life can find hope, healing, and purpose. Our mission is simple: to lift up Jesus, teach the Word, welcome the broken, train believers to stand strong, and send out Spirit-filled disciples into our community.
We believe in creating a place where the Holy Spirit is honored, the Bible is preached without apology, worship is heartfelt, and families can grow in faith together. Rockport First is not just a church you attend — it’s a church you belong to a place to breathe, rebuild, and become who God created you to be.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be a lighthouse on the Gulf Coast—shining the hope of Christ to Rockport, Aransas County, and beyond. We envision a church where the lost are saved, the prodigal returns home, and believers walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are building a community where people discover identity, grow in discipleship, and step into their God-given calling. We see families strengthened, children equipped, students ignited, and adults living out bold faith. We see revival in our homes, our neighborhoods, and our region—revival marked by prayer, unity, compassion, and the presence of God.

Meet our Lead Pastor
Pastor Matt & Jaime Roever
Matt and Jaime Roever serve as the Lead Pastors of Rockport First. Married for over 30 years, they minister side by side with a shared heart for people, a passion for the Gospel, and a deep love for the local church. Their dream at Rockport First is to see families restored, faith renewed, and this coastal community transformed by the power of the Gospel.

With volunteer opportunities, you can serve the community & help meet the needs of those around you. Our small groups provide a place for deeper connection as you engage in Bible study, discuss
sermons, and apply God’s Word to your everyday life. Connection is at the heart of our mission—God has called us to live out our faith together, not just on Sundays but every day.

Our church is a community shaped by prayer – seeking God together, believing for His presence, and trusting in His power. We gather regularly for Prayer Night weekly on friday, creating space to worship, intercede, and lift one another up. It’s a time to unite our hearts, stand in faith, and experience God moving in our church, our families, & our city.
